The School of Media and Communication is a world-leading department for the study of communication, media and culture. We are ranked sixth for Communication and Media Studies in the UK according to the Complete University Guide. We have one of the highest employment rates of graduates in our subject areas.


The BA Journalism focuses on developing the technical and theoretical skills required for working in radio, television and online journalism.

Film, Photography and Media

The BA Film, Photography and Media focuses on the development of theoretical and practical knowledge in digital film and photography.

Communication and Media

The BA Communication and Media programme is an academically rigorous degree that prepares you for a future either within or beyond the media and communication industries.

Digital Media

The Digital Media/New Media degree offers a unique blend of media theory and practice, teaching you all you need for a future in digital and interactive media.

With teaching and research strengths across a wide range of communication subjects we offer degrees that emphasise choice, opportunity and the development of analytical and creative skills.
