Alex Gardiner produced the RTS award winning documentary on Jimmy Savile: Exposure: The Other Side of Jimmy Savile.

As Creative Director of Factual North and Specialist Factual at ITV he also devised the Peston on Sunday politics show, the election Leaders Debates and popular formats like ‘60 Minute Makeover’ and ‘May the Best House Win ‘and ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ Find out why Alex thinks his misses over 25 years in TV are as important as the hits.


Alexander Gardiner was until recently Managing Director of Shiver, one of the UK’s biggest producers of factual television. What he loved about the job is the variety of programmes Shiver produce, the dynamic team around him and working in an ideas culture. Alexander has a diverse range of production credits from hard-hitting documentaries to entertainment series. He was Executive Producer of the award winning Exposure: The Other side of Jimmy Saville and co-Executive Producer of the first four series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Other Executive Producer credits include; 56Up, The First Election Debate, and David Starkey’s Monarchy. He was a Politics and Parliamentary Studies Graduate (1989). He currently works as a media consultant.
